Ol' Blue #841:

This bomb of a pour has more assertive oakiness than 803, while almost all of the blue corn has been integrated and amalgamated into the booming tobacco, fruit leather, dates, and a saturated oak that is shockingly without a tannic dryness for as present as it is. Lots of toffee.

Blue Corn #357 & #358:

These barrels are elegant and balanced with some of the tobacco and leather notes that are well integrated into traditional bourbon vanilla, chocolate, caramel, toasted pecan, and dark cherry notes. Long finishes. While sister barrels, they are not identical. The oak is heftier and imposes with coffee notes on 357 and 358 has an increased focus on balance and sweetness with a touch more fruit and buoyant texture.

This barrel is special. It’s aged and hard not to be romantic about this sun-bleached barrel that’s pushing a decade. It throws a lot of the dark leather and tobacco notes out and replaces them with polished oak, a deep fermented fruit, and lots of dark chocolate and rich chicory notes. Long finish.
