Rare Character: The Elites for HIC-14 - 8yr+ Straight Bourbon Whiskey at Cask Strength

We are proud to offer a unique release of Rare Character picked by Michael Bosch and Andrew Tran: HIC-014. Aged 9 years with an ABV of 55.03%, this bottle is sure to be sought after by Rare Character Collectors and Enthusiasts.

The bottle features artwork designed by founding partner Pablo Moix’s wife, Rox, the artist responsible for all of the designs found on the Exceptional Series. This is the first time her work has appeared on a standard release of a Rare Character.

The 60% Corn / 36% Rye / 4% Malted Barley mash bill barrel was distilled & aged in Indiana then transferred to Kentucky for its final few years of aging.

Aging the barrel in two different warehouses gives the bourbon a rather unique profile that adds some tropical notes to the nose and palate, as well as a punchy tasting oak profile that is light on tannins.

The high rye mash bill is awesome for those wanting a high rye bourbon that doesn’t have that much of a spicy rye bite on the finish. It is an easy to sip bourbon with a 110.06 proof showcasing a well-aged barrel at a reasonable price points.

Tasting Notes: Sweet citrus, rye grain, spiced vanilla cream, toasted coconut, star fruit, nutmeg, oak, chocolate, graham cracker, cardamom, and rye bread notes round out the flavors noted for the palate.
