NOSE
Dark, semi-dry luxardo cherry, very intense oak, rich brown butter, leather, bittersweet chocolate, clove and cinnamon. Something on the nose resembles molasses, but in an even more charred sort of way. Maybe even a slight grilled pineapple note in the background? This is seriously high octane whiskey but it comes off powerful and not overly hot.
PALATE
Ridiculous! Completely envelops the palate from the moment you take the sip, all the way through a finish that lasts forever.
Explosion of clove, cinnamon, and oak up front. Cherry cola immediately follows and melds with gooey brown butter/caramel in the mid-palate. The profile continues bouncing between bitter and sweet, with luxardo cherry and baker’s chocolate battling through to the finish.
FINISH
Crazy long finish. Yes, it has lots of spice, but there’s so much flavor backing it up that it never feels overbearingly spicy or proofy. Dark cherry note hangs on forever with that sort of caramel/brown butter/molasses sweetness. Insanely powerful, ridiculous barrel. It’s a special bourbon but not for the faint of heart.
